Made of four larger-than-life puzzle pieces, Christopher Weed’s sculpture design Connected directs traffic from the center of a major roundabout in Lakewood, Colorado. The monumental, stainless steel sculpture speaks to the connection between the community of Lakewood and the West Colfax corridor, one of the most trafficked thoroughfares in the country. The public art piece is illuminated each evening with RGB LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) that circulate through the color spectrum in a brilliant fashion. Connected was voted BEST NEW PUBLIC ART in Denver by The Westword newspaper and is enjoyed by the thousands of drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians daily.
