As with nearly all Christopher Weed designs, Opening Doors is a site-specific commission. Created for the The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver, Colorado, the three, giant, surrealist doors each weigh over 3000 pounds and reach 19 feet high – serving as friendly sentinels in a courtyard between two principal science buildings. The doors thoughtfully enhance the surrounding architecture and inspiringly advance the educational spirit of the campus as a thought-provoking landmark. Opening Doors was an instant success, garnering stellar reviews from 5280 Magazine and the Denver Post.
